Aquaria Central ...........................Clownfish

Amphiprion percula
Other names:...........Percula Clown, Anemonefish
Origin:......................Indo-Pacific oceans
Max size:..................3.5"
Temperature:...........75-79 F.
Min tank size:..........30 gallons
Food:.........................live foods, meat, flakes, pellets

The common Clown is perhaps one of the best-known of all marine fishes. The patterns of red/orange, black and white appear to be hand-painted and strikingly beautiful. Some importations of A. percula may in fact be A. ocellaris, which has less black in the markings than the true species of the common Clown.

If a large enough Sea-anemone is available, more than one Clownfish can take up residence without too much squabbling over territory. This fish prefers to be fed a wide variety of foods such as small live foods, fresh meat and seafood such as shellfish. Flake foods are also accepted. Keep the Clownfish in a tropical temperature of 75-79 F.
