The Flame Angelfish is one of the smaller Angelfishes. From the coral reefs of the western and central Pacific, this fish has a deep and laterally compressed orange body. The intense body color is equally matched by the fins, which are tipped in black. Four dark verticle bands appear on the body, and the caudal fin fades from the yellow caudal penduncle, to the white, almost transparent fintip.

The Flame Angelfish is ombivorous and needs plenty of vegetable matter in its diet. This fish is hardy and easy to take care of, although it can be territorial. Decorate the tank with plenty of hiding places, and keep this fish with others that can take care of themselves.
