I know this is a bit of a newb question, but i guess i am somewhat of a noob when i comes to live plants considerin i have only really had fake until a few moths ago, but anyway my question is regarding java moss and how to plant it (or if u need to) mine is just kinda sittin on the surface of a rock in my tank is that all i need to do is throw it in my tank???

The best thing to do is tie it to the rock with a piece of thread, by the time the thread gets old and rots away the moss will have grown onto the rock.

most of the time i just wrap it around what ever and it sticks fast. cotton string is also good way to attach it. the things you can do with java moss is endless.
