which should i get for a 35gal planted tank?
im also probably gonna add
a pair of dwarf flad cichlids
6-15 neons or rummynose tetras (give me a good number)

I don't reccomend a whiptail cat, they can get to a pretty good size. get a gold nugget and nothing else, your tank is almost fully stocked as it is. keep in mind gold nuggets are mostly carnivorous and it's diet should reflect this.

I wouldn't put a gold nugget in a planted tank or a tank under 75gal. The smallest of the gold nuggets grows to be around 8" with the largest ~14". Even if they didn't eat the plants they could uproot them while swimming around.
