Changing Bio-Media?

I am cycling my 90G with the AGA MEgaFlow Wet/Dry Filter. The water dripping through does not make as much contact with the Bio-Balls as I would like, so I am thinking of swapping it out for potscrubbers.

SHould I wait until fully cycled, pull the balls out lod half the container with potscrubbers and put half the balls bake in for a couple of weeks and then swap out the remaining balls?

Should I just bite the bullet and swap them out now before my cycle is really going?

Thoughts?

I got impatient and went ahead and did the swap. I put 60 pot scrubbers and 20 bio-balls in the bio-media area (I might be able to squeeze in a a few more scrubbers) and drop 10 more bio-balls in the main sump area.

Now I just need to keep an eye on the water quality. I wish my LFS was not out of Bio-Spira.
