I want to keep a marin water Tank with dimensions of 4'x2'x2'. I want to convert Fresh water to Marine water for a tank of above size. Can anyone tell me the exact amount of salt and which salt to use for the process?

You just want to keep water, or do you want animals too? :p

I wouldn't just dump salt in. I'd drain the tank, clean it well, then mix the salt with new, pure water.

You need to purchase a device called a hydrometer. No one can tell you exactly what volume of salt to add as the size of salt grains changes with the amount of moisture that it has absorbed from the air. A hydrometer will measure your salinity in terms of specific gravity. You want a specific gravity between 1.020-1.025

A good starting point is 35 grams of salt for every liter of water. That is going to get you close to 35 ppt, which is full strength sea water. 30-35 ppt is a good range for most fish. Just keep an eye on it, because your salinity will increase due to evaporative water loss. As far as what type of salt to use, get what ever is cheapest at the pet store.

a better starting point is to do a lot of reading

Vaisal,

You have a ton of research to do. I've been reading since March. I have my tank in the house and hope to have water in it by January. Go slow. Read. Read. Read.

There is no silver bullet in this hobby.

Good luck!
