Question: does it stay firm when you take it out of the water? Did you just get it? Looks kinda non-aquatic to me. Perhaps acorus varigatus or something of that type? http://www.northcreeknurseries.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/plants.plantDetail/plant_id/422/index.htm

So do you think that it could be the acorus? Sounds like it. No aquatic plants I know with thin leaves like that stay firm out of water. You had better go get your money back. I'd be ticked too. Maybe someone else will have a suggestion, but I really think that is what it is.

Thanks Sammie~

It is too thin to be dwarf sag, and it is not any form of hairgrass or U. gramnifolia, and def not blyxa, so I will opt of non aquatic.~ Go get your dough back~

I believe you are supposed to spread them out so they can grow together into a lawn. Those look rather large. http://www.aquahobby.com/garden/e_lilaebras.php

Not as much as yours is. At the base the roots are going to get tangled when they start to grow. Who knows, maybe they just put it like that to take the picture. You need to give it room to spread by the runners.
