When I turn the filter on for my betta's tank, it has recently in the past 2 days started to foam/bubble at the top, and Im not sure why. This is day three that Im doing the fish in cycle. It did not bubble at the beginning but this is day 3, and I am concerned. I don't know if the layer of bubbles are blocking my betta from getting the air when he comes up to breath? It sometimes appears as if he likes the bubbles, and then sometimes it appears as if he doesn't like them. I don't know. I ordered the Red Sea Deco nano aquarium filter, that is supposed to be really good, as opposed to the UGF that my tank currently came with. Should I be concerned about the bubbles, or do you think it has something to do with the good bacteria that are hopeflly starting to grow in my tank?

oh yeah, I don't use soap or any cleaners or anything like that to clean the tank. I use StressCoat water conditioner and Stress Zyme, but that's it to treat the water.

This is what the manual that came with my tank says about it....

Why are there bubbles on top of my tank?
This is generally a result of water imbalance. Once your tank has cycled and is brought into balance, the bubbling should end. An aquarium usually takes a month or so to completely cycle, and during this time, make sure that the food for your fish isn't sitting on top of the bubbles where the fish can't get to it. Another common cause for foaming is the decorative gravel that has not been rinsed as thoroughly as necessary to clean it completely.

Sounds like chellemomof2 provided a reasonable answer.

Thanks! If anyone else has any input, please feel free. The funny thing is though, I think my Betta likes all of the bubbles, because he always goes up to them and swims all around in them.
