30 gallon breeder tank. 22 lbs of live rock. Coral Skimmer, whisper 40, maxi jet powerhead.

Would fish like these be appropriate in a 30 gallon tank? Not all of them together obviously. But would these species would be okay in a small tank. Fire fish? Ocellaris Clown? Neon Goby? Six Line Wrasse? Royal Gramma? maybe a small blenny or goby? that seems to be the extent of my options.

What is your experience with these fish?

---------------------
55 Gallon FW:
2 large Silver Dollars
3 Australian Rainbows
1 Bosemani Rainbow
3 Zebra Danios
1 Tiger Pleco
6 Ghost Shrimp

10 Gallon FW:
3 Dwarf Puffers
2 Oto’s
1 Ghost Shrimp

30 Gallon SW:
Being setup… soon to cycle.

Based on my small experience in SW, I'd go with a pair of clowns and then stick in some inverts or something.

They're such cool little fishies!

A pair of clowns looks nice. Just watch your fingers when doing anything in the tank. Clowns look nice but do like to nip. Or are mine just nasty? LOL

they do nip a little sometimes....but, mine are used to being hand fed now, so as soon as they realise there is no food in the palm of my hand, they leave me alone...try hand feeding them if you dont do it already...this will get them used to having your hand in the tank and they will know if food is available in future or not and then stop nipping you...

Is it better to have one clown or two?

I'm thinking in my 30 gallon tank... 4 fish is prolly my limit.

That sounds a good idea. Don't want to keep checking i've got all my fingers everytime i do a water change and such like.

Was begining to think my two had watched Jaws instead of Finding Nemo.

ok. thanks I read though the post. SO MANY fish...

Here's my narrowed down choices: 1 clown fish, 1 firefish, 1 royal gramma (i heard these can be quite aggressive and should go in last if I wanted one) and what else... my girl loves the type of fish that sits on the rocks and sand. what is a good compatible one?

also, i have a breeder tank so it is 18" wide. Could I stock more because of this or is this incorrect logic?

Either way I think I only want 4 fish. just curious!!!

The rule of thumb on tank dimensions usually applies to swimmers (like Tangs). Otherwise, as long as there are places to hide, they should be ok.

I currently only have 2 damsels and a clown. And they get along smashingly. But the tank is pretty big and there's many places for them to hide.
