I was stupid enough to listen to the people at Petco in setting up my tank and used gravel instead of live sand/live rock. The tank has been set up for about 2 months with fish for 1 month...is it too late for me to switch?

No but I'd do it soon!!

It's not that hard, I converted a few months ago to agranite from crushed coral. I used a shop vac, but you could use a bowl to scoop out the gravel. Then just use the same bowl and put in your sand gently. Just turn off all power heads and filters before you start. Get just regular agranite sand(sugar size), and rinse, rinse, rinse. Then just get a little bit of live sand(no rinse at all) and your good. It'll take a couple of hours for the water to clear up, and then turn on all power heads and filters and your good to go.:)

dont even shop there....their business is a joke..no offense to anyone who works there...but what they do behind the doors is beyond cruel...and corporate didnt even know how to use the cash register at my local store...they were getting a house...rent payed for 3 months....$60,000/year and they couldnt even turn the lights on....or open the front door with the key...and when i was there 4 of them could figure out that the bird food was in the box behind them and they tried to sell hummingbird food to the lady they were helping....im serious...they are wonderful business men but they dont know a dimes worth about their product any more than the numbers at least...and most the workers are part time students that had a turtle when they were 5.....in the 2 petcos in my town only the managers know anything about the animals they sell, and even then i can catch them on lies so they dont look stupid...buy dry goods there cause of the good price but dont bother with the animals or their advice. thats just my $100 bucks..lol
as for the gravel the comments above are perfectally right so i cant add anything lol
