usually when it is well established u can cut off an "arm" and attach it to a rock with eiter glue, string, or the mess method.

I like to cut finger corals with sharp scissors. I then use a toothpick and pin it to a piece of rock. Then leave it alone for about a month. Once it is really secure to the rock you can pull the tooth pick out.
