at first i thought it was a pod living in a pocket in the sand. just recently i saw how the sand has shifted. no i see that the tunnel is attached to the glass. when i see the single critter in there, i notice that it has some stripes on it. way WAY to small to tell now. Pistol shrimp maybe?

it looks constructed. i can tell becuase there is no sand below the opening. its just attached to the glass. its too small for a crappy camera like mine to take a picture.

ok i thought it died when i couldnt find it anymore, but i found it this morning in an even bigger tunnel. It's obviously some kind of shrimp now. its been a month and its body is starting to develop. I mostly a black-ish body with some yellow stripes. any ideas yet

the main tunneling shrimps are pistol shrimps...excellent surveys, builder and all round construction experts...do you hear any noises coming from the tank? like clicking?

So far it soudns like a pistol to me. i have a little one that lives in a hole in a big zoo rock. he's pretty awesome. good luck!

only about 2 cm so far though. if there is clicking, its probably too quiet for me to hear it.
