Like the question says really. I have read a bunch of articles saying about some good US/Canada-based plant sellers, but i can't seem to find anything for UK dealers?
Has anybody heard of/used a UK mail-order dealer for buying their plants? And were they any good?
All input appreciated :)
Thanks

Plants arrive in very good cond. But be prepared for their 'collections' to not be exactly the species listed. Good service and reasonably priced.

Hey

Try this site mate, seems very resonable. However please note I have never ordered from here as I tend to go to lfs which is very well stocked in plants.

Good Luck!

I have been wanting to put more plants in my tank for a while now, as I wanted my keyholes to have plenty of hiding places and to feel really secure, but I think I jumped the gun a little. :/

I just ordered this bunch of plants from the website Marzy - here's the link http://www.aquaticplants.eu.com/acatalog/copy_of_Plant_Collections.html (it's the Premium Quality Collection 18"). I have also ordered some java moss.

I was taken in by the text on the website, but now I'm going to get a bunch of plants tomorrow and I'm not sure what else I should have in place to keep them all alive!

I've done a bunch of reading about the different types of plants and where they should go / how they should be attached - but it's the conditions in my tank I worry about.

I currently dose once a week with the waterchange with Tetra Plantamin. Will I need CO2 / ground fertiliser / new lighting etc? If I got CO2 would it affect my water's pH?

Any advice would be very much appreciated, please be kind....I know I'm a dodo for jumping the gun...many thanks...

My Tank:
Juwel Rio 240
Black 3mm substrate / 'natural' 1-2mm substrate
Nitrite = 0 / Ammonia = 0 / Nitrate = 20 / pH = 7 (ish) / kH = 10 / Temp: 25-26 C
Fish: 4 x Angels / 4 x Keyholes / 2 x Bristlenose Plecos
Slate Rock Cave / Mountain
Synthetic Mangrove Roots 1 Large 1 Small
Current Plants: Java Fern / Amazon Sword
Eheim Pro II external filter
Heater
Lighting: 1 x Arcadia Plant Pro Tube T5 54w (new) / 1 x Arcadia Marine Blue Actinic (with original tank when bought second hand)

Nice choice on the order mate! I have been tempted to order from that site for a while but like I said my lfs is pretty good with the plants they have for sale and any advice I need.

To be honest I am a newbe at all of this myself and all I have done with my plants (fear of being ridiculed here) is plant them in the tank in about 3" of gravel and gave them about 8 hours of tank light a day and they are all doing well. I dont really want to add anything to the tank (CO2 or fertiliser) just incase it messes with my water peramiters. The only problem I am having is with some algea on the leaves of my amazon swords and I wish my java moss would grow a little quicker. I say keep it simple and view the results, if you think it needs something adding to help growth give it go.

Do me a favour mate and send me a PM and let me know how the plants are after delivery and how well they take to your tank.

Am so tempted to buy some Java fern from the site!

No problem Marzy I'll let you know.
So far they've been really good - they've emailed me with the progress of everything. The way they work is as long as you order & pay before 20.00 wednesday they'll deliver by Friday (just make sure you add 50p onto the recorded delivery charge when you order - if you order on a wednesday like I did that is :) )
Here's to hoping it's a lovely bunch ;)

ha ha **** those hidden charges! :) The company does seem fairly professional so am sure your stock is gonna be pretty sweet.

Good luck with it dude!
