I have a quick question that I'd like some input on.
I have a 10 gal tank (see signature) that I clean regularly and vacuum. However, I seem to be having a slight algae problem. It's not too severe but is noticeable. I want to stay away from using any kind of chemicals and have been doing blackouts, but since the problem is only slight it doesn't do much good.
I was thinking of adding either a pair of otos, a snail or two, or some ghost shrimp to help with the problem.
I am a bit leary of getting more ghost shrimp because my puffer considers them snacks and they are usually gone within a day. I've heard otos can be hard to keep alive. If I get I snail I don't want tons and tons of snail babies. Few to none would be best. Is there a snail that exists that would get along with my fish and not breed like bunnies?

What would be my best shot to help keep the tank a little cleaner?

Thanks! :) :) :)

The DP would most likely eat any snails before they had a chance to clean up the tank, or even reproduce significantly for that matter. Oto's are sometimes fine w/DP's, sometimes they are picked on, it depends on the individual DP. Shrimp are less likely to be a problem, and ghost shrimp are inexpensive even if they do get eaten.

In my experience, otos are very hardy fish if they survive the first week or two.
