I was thinking of getting a bristlenose for my first tank, but I can't seem to find one. LFS have "hypostomus," but am I right in believing those are "common" plecos and would be too big for my 29g?

If so, any ideas where to find a BN pleco, or what other names my LFS's might be using for them? I don't really want to pay $25 in shipping to get a tiny catfish on the internet. :p:

Maybe your lfs can simply order them for you, I would never have thought to ask my LFS but basically they can order any fish I could think of and the prices are very good too...
Good Luck finding one my BN has to be my favorite of all my fish..

if you don't mind paying the $30 shipping fee

liveaquaria.com or petsolutions.com (but you said you didn't want to pay the $$$ so...)

A couple years back i got 7 baby bristlenoses off ebay for $30. well, actually i won 6 and got an extra one too. there were no shipping costs and all are still alive and healthy. just keep your eyes open, look everywhere and you might find a good deal.
