Be VERY careful!!! They die and wipe out entire tanks!!! Not to say they can't be sucessfully kept but everything dies eventually so keep an eye out!!

dont risk it unless the tank is over 350 gallons so it will dilute...mine did great fro 5 months and then climbed halfway outa the water and did its poison jig and killed half my fish but not itself....they are a risk but so beautiful.
must agree. Large tanks only and watch them closely.

My Fiancé bought me one because of its great color and she thought it was neat... I have not problem in keeping it and from what I read about feeding it... it does not seem to difficult. The Problem is if it dies... What does it look like if it dies?
My tank is a 90 gallon with a 20 gallon sump and a 10 gallon refug...
Should I return the sea apple? or risk it for the woman....
Death for certain eather way lol.

Imaging how the sea apple feels  LOL Keeping sea apples is like keeping an octopus. Great until he inks you..... No offence intended, just being light hearted.....I remember a sticker I saw on the back of a dive boat once "My husband says that if I spend anymore on my dive boat he will leave me.....I'm sure going to miss him". mikelush78, as you mentioned, they are easy to feed and keep, for as the main problem be that if anyone wants this type of species in their reef tank, you would need to cut out grazers/nippers and the type of power heads in which this animal can become trapped.

very true but powerheads can be made safe. but even hermits like he stated can cause enough annoyance for the apple to release its poison.

yeah... I think sea apples are really meant for species tanks.

You not really need a species only tank for them, just no nibbling fishes and look for a way to protect them from becoming trapped by your tanks power heads. many hobbyists have had much success in this>
