I'm new to the hobby (not counting some small tanks from my childhood that never stayed populated for long). I am in the process of building up my population. I bought a used 65 gallon tank and chose my equipment based on all the reviews/info I could find. I'm using Zeolite in my FilStar X3 and all my levels have been in the "green" range from the get-go. I used the substrate that comes "wet" in Amazon blackwater and live plants to get my cycle going. I am constantly surprised by the variety of fish that are available to the hobbyist!
