View Full Version : Are snails causing my plant problem?

I have an established 29g that is moderately planted with water sprite. I have one small java fern and one plant that came from a Wal Mart bulb. The water sprite was doing GREAT....until we added two mystery snails a couple of months ago. Now the water sprite looks weak and sickly. The snails crawl all over it, but it doesn't look like they're eating it. Could they be the cause of the plants' decline? We don't use any CO2 or ferts, as the plants looked excellent before the snails.

Advice, please.

If you havent added any CO2 or fert I would say that is more of the problem then the snails. Also, how many watts of light do you have over the tank?

I hate to sound like a total newbie, but I can't remember. Hubby picks up the bulbs, etc. I'll check this evening and post tom. Thanks
