My male jack dempsey ( at least I think it is) was doing some weird things in front of my female. It usually kind of bullies the female but this time it swam in front of the female, stopped with his gills flared, shook around, then swam in his cave, dug a little, then did the whole thing over again. What was he doing. I've never seen him do this before.

Sounds like mating behavior to me. He wants to make babies.
