well.... as long it's get many small bubles like a milk (haha... become it's become full white color) it's ok.
my friends create his own skimmer... he uses a big mineral water's bottle...and just cut the button of bottle. use an airpump (he uses double actually). in the top of bottle.. he uses another bottle for the rubbish water hehehe

Hey. It is possible to do a HOB skimmer in a sump. My set up is like that now if you click the link in my signature section and skim through to the 3rd page I believe. I have a Remora HOB skimmer with a Rio pump going at 365gph. The thing is if you do this you might need to extend the hose from the pump to the intake of the skimmer. And if you do this you might need a more powerful pump as I did to get enough gph to the skimmer. If you dont get a strong enough pump your skimmer wont create the fine bubbles its supposed to skim. The reason for this is cause you extended the hose so it take more time for the water to travel up the hose and due to gravity you need it to go up fast. If you have mroe questions please do shout out I am sure we all can lend a hand. =)

Sorry if i gave too much details.
