I will have a 75 gal this summer and want to put a couple weather (dojo) loaches in it, but how many would work in a 48" x 18" tank? I would like at least 2, but 3 would also be fun.

As for as other fish in the tank, they would be in with my king tiger pleco for sure, and the rest is up in the air right now.

thanks for any advice,
Spunky

Heya did you know weather loaches arenot tropical.
They are coldwater fish. They can survive in tropical tanks but will have reduced lifspan etc.
This is because their hemoglobin have adapted to higher oxygen conditions of fast moving asian mountian streams etc.

These big worms are the best. I keep 6 of them in my 55 gallon tank and they love it. You could fit 8-10 in a 75 tank, even more with fewer other fish. Give them lots of plants to play with.

Seriously? that many? wow... i would love to do that, but we will see.

Oh, yeah i know they are not tropical. I have read that they do just fine at 75 F. As for my pleco, i really do not have much info on him, but from what i can tell he should do fine. If not, i will move him back to the other tank, then slowly move the temp down.

I really want a river tank type set up, which is why i love my loaches. I am not sure what powerhead i will have yet, but i plan on running 2 emperor 400s.

Hey HungryGoldfish, what does your tank look like? You have any pics? I am trying to come up with easy to maintain caves and such for these long fish...

thanks for the input,
Spunky

I had one a looooooong time ago, it died from a fungus attack though. One great thing I can remember was that I had it hand tame through where he would come to my hand to eat pellets and flakes at dinner time...
