To plant, or not to plant? Bulbs.

I got a 20" madagascar lace bulb. Should i plant the bulb or leave it sitting on the substrate?

Whats best?
 
is it sprouted?

if it's not it's a good idea to just rest it on the sub strate until it sprouts, then bury it partially.

well, then say plant, not bulb. it's confusing.

Well the bulb part of the plant is what i wonderd about if it could be planted.

This thread is confusing.
 
i read somewhere on here that you shouldnt bury no more than a third of the bulb so it doesnt rot.
