Hello. I was doing a search for starting up tanks and ran across this forum. My name is Karen. My father in law gave us a 10 gallon tank for my son, who is 1 and a lover of all things related to fish. I have been running it with the filter and added conditioner for 5 days. Taking the water to be tested today. I will be lurking the forums for info. I am not sure where to start with picking fish for the tank.

welcome to AC. i would look into fishless cycling. sadly just letting the water sit there wont help the fish.
