Issue with tank filtering

Lately my 15 gallon tank filter is clogging up very quickly (usually within 7-10 days). It clogs to the point where it just plain stops filtering.

I'm using the Top Fin Bio Filters.

What is usually the cause of the quick clogging? Is it over feeding?

I've got 8 fish in the tank.

Is there any other info I need to give?

Sounds as if too much feeding and/or not enough tank gravel vac'ing.

How do you judge the amount of food to give?

And I vacuum the gravel about once every few weeks.

I honestly couldn't tell you the exact fish. I know a couple are Mollys, but other than that I'm not sure. (Yes, I'm the one wearing the huge "Amateur" sign over my head.)

The tank does not have live plants.

if you feed them and after a couple mins the food is still there your overfeeding them.
