I am going to upgrade from my 55gal to a 90gal. My question is can i move some of my 55gal water and rocks into a 29gal until i get the 90 and not worry about it cycling. Thank you
You would have better success if you moved the entire contents of your 55 into plastic holding containers and used it to seed the new 90. You'll want to drop a power head or two into each holding cell to keep things from going stale. Are you planning to add more rock to the 90 in addition to what you already have?

i wont add rock for a while but i am wanting to get the 55 out of my room cause my friend needs it. I would quite a bit of my live rock in the 29 and the water from my 55 in there to fill to the top. I would leave the sand and put it in the 90 when i get it here. Also should i have one of my actenics and 10k over the tank or just 2 10k.

one light should be ok unless the rocks have coral growth. the 29 gallon would work perfectly as long as u put some pumps on it. using the water from the 55 would be good because it will be stable already...just make sure not to get any dirt in there with it.

You will still find yourself going through a cycle what if you switch everything from your 55 or not. For as well, you will disturb your sand bed and when moving it and this is the main thing for if you were able to switch the sand bed without disturbing it, your cycle period would be much shorter>

Two more questions:
First what lights should i put over them i have compact florecents should i do the actinic and 10k or 2 10k while they are in the 29. I have some mushrooms and a starburst polyp.
Second will 2 pj cardnals, 1 yellow tang, 2 damsels, 2 clowns and 1 royal gramma be ok in the 29 until like sunday.
