Hello there,I had recently get 4 juvenile discuses from a discus specialty shop.I'm very very worried that it will die cause its my 1st time taking care of it.So is it okay to keep them with neons because i heard that if you keep neons with them they will grow up and eat the neons.Oh ya i got some juvenile angels in there too.So if both of them survived for 1 year will they eat my neons???

I have heard people confirm both. IMO, they will be food eventually.

You want to get cardinals rather than neons because they can withstand the higher temps that discus like. The temp should be around at least 84 degrees also.

They can eat the neons but if introduced at a young enough age the risk of that happening decreases.

Good Luck

what size tank?

you should be doing several water changes per week with young discus..they also need to eat several small meals thru the day.(I fed mine 4 meals and changed water every other day)

as for the neons..as mentioned..the discus should be in warm water..warmer than neons like(exception is the black neon..not really a neon) you may consider getting cardinals to go with the discus.

keep an eye on the angels with the discus..the angels tend to feed more voraciously than many discus...and as they get older they may not be compatible..you can keep discus with angels but just be aware of possible issues.

well my discus is jus a few weeks old baby.I do water changes 2 days for a week since after i introduce discus inside.

just an fyi, baby discus will need many water changes per week..and they need many feedings per day.any uneaten food needs to be cleaned up.

if you want to do the best for the fish..domestic discus are pretty tough..but the rules for raising them are pretty well practiced.9you could say set in stone;)

now my discus greet me and not shy anymore. It's coming 1 week already and nothing happened.Thx for all, the advice u all.
