Petsmart... i dont know what type of lfs you have in your area... but all the petco / petsmarts that i have been too.... i wouldn't ever by a fish there!!!!

I stopped at the new one here yesterday, first day its doors opened. Not too bad, but not as nice as some i've been in. I noticed a lot of fish in the wrong tanks, but everything looked healthy so far. I didn't grill the staff or ask any questions, or overhear any conversatiosn to know what quality they are, but they don't have to do much to be better then the petco here. considering the only lfs in town is a disaster and the petco isn't much better, I am really hoping this petsmart does ok.

If possible, can we keep this thread on a possitive note about the fish shops as its not good practice to talk badly about stores..

i have two petsmarts near me, one 5 miles away and the other about 7 miles away. id have to say that they are both pretty nice, but the one that is 5 miles away seems to be better and the employees are more knowledgable.

petsmart/co is an alright place to shop for your pets, I rather buy dogbones and dogfood from petsmart/co anyday of the week vrs lets say wallmart. Better choices and quality I think. BUT when it comes to fish. Well there arent that many placed that have MARINE fish. YES the FW tanks have the normal fish. BUT theres only one chain that is near me that sells SW and that is Petco. Its like 5 min away from my house. PLUS i know the person in charge as well as the shipment day (IE TODAY!!) but thats the only way I buy fish from there get the new stock and get them in the bag it was shipped plus there are a HECK of a lot cheaper than my LFS. It has worked for me and thus no probs. People that work there and their lack of info on fish. im sure we all dont know EVERY single little thing about fish but that pron is easily solved IMO by posting your "?" on AC.

Petco is really my best option here, there just isnt really a big selection and the peoople dont know much
