Ouch.

I had that same thing happen once. Not an enjoyable experience.

what kind of filter was it?

its an excuse to get a bigger tank, and your porthole will appreciate it in the long run

Oh no... do you know how long they went w/out a filter? :(I think it was about a day and a half.... but i've been having some troubles with waste buildup, so losing my only means of getting it out was fatal. the survivors are in my other 10G I just set up as a growout for the goldfish I was going to adopt. I cleaned out the 10G they were in completely, and i'll move them back there (along with all my plants.) after I run down to my LFS to grab some of their filter media and an AC 100.

to add to the horror, I discovered a little family of cockroaches living behind my filter. man, i've said warg to much today.

it was far from over.....

after she got home and napped, me and my mom ran around to every pet store in town in search of a AC 20, and after going to every pet store in town, finally found one for $36 :mad2:. needless to say we didn't buy it.

then we went to wal-mart to settle for a crappy filter, and I had to repel the ignorance attacks of a wal-mart "fish expert" from the ears of innocent aquarium buyers.

then I went down to my local boys and girls club to do my routine maintainence on their super OS tank, and then I find out they want to give it to me.

after singlehandedly moving the whole thing into my room, I now face the problem of possibly having to re-cycle both tanks, and i'm so tired I could sleep with my head on an air pump, and my back feels like mr. Ts punchbag. the tank I got is a 30G with 6 goldfish, 4 commons and 2 fancies.

good reason to add a couple filters for a tank.

you should call an LFS near you to warn them before you drop all of those fish off

you should call an LFS near you to warn them before you drop all of those fish offof course I will, no point in hauling the things all over tarnation when it's 30 degrees outside.

UPDATE: all the LFSs are full up, I guess i'll post up flyers at my local LFSs and hope someone comes along to take them.
