after all my fish died, i waited a few days and performed some tests today after doing the following:

adding a dose of purple up, 10-15% water change of saltwater from lfs, adding a few more astrea snails.

the results of the test were:

ph: 8.2
ammonia: 0 ppm
nitrite: 0 ppm
nitrate: 0 ppm
temp: 79 F
salinity: 1.024-1.025
calcium: 420 ppm
kh: >12 dKH or >214.8 ppm
phosphate: 0.25 ppm

how is my tank now? should i continue to wait to get fish? how do i adjust my alkalinity? is this coral safe? - let me know what you think..
thanks,

What size if your tank?
Recommend at least a 55g

What type of (makeup) water do you use?
Get a RO unit

Alkalinity is only a factor for corals. Do you have corals?

Where did you get your fish? The fish might have not been well when you got them. Try another LFS and look at all of the fish closely. Normally all of the tanks are part of the same water system. Or the salinity of the LFS is way different then yours. Slowly lower your salinity to 1.022. Ask your LFS what level they use. Normally its low or way low depending. If thats that case then you will need to acclimate any new fish slowly. And never dump the LFS water into your tank! It could have copper.
