Well, I just introduced my blue crowntail betta into my ten gallon with my cory cat (I know, I am getting a couple more when the LFS gets them in next week :) ). So far he has been exploring the tank, flaring at his refelection. He has only noticed the cory cat once, flared at him and chased him for a second and then seemed disinterested. I bought the cory a cave also to hide in. The betta I "rescued" from our local Petco last week. He seems very healthy though. So, if all goes well the betta will be fine with the cory cat?

Some betta's can be kept in community tanks, some can't. It sounds like you will probably be fine with your setup as long as you get some more cory cats, which you already know ;). Just keep an eye on your betta as it is possible for him to become more aggressive, but doubtful. If he begins to harrass the cory's separate them.

I have not had a Betta with a cory, but I really think it depends on the personality of the Betta, my daughter betta is in with 5 White Clouds, 5 ScissorTail rasbora, with Ottos and 3 ADFs. No problems.
