how would i go about finding out the sex of my cichlids?

If they're immature and small (2" or less) it will be hard to tell.

all male fish tend to be more vibrantly colored and slimmer and larger than the female. males have larger dorsal and anal fins and they tend to be more pointed and more flowing than the female. in many species, the male will display egg shaped markings on the anal fins. some males have a bump on the head referred to nuchal hump i got this from fishhead.com/articles/ventsex.hotm or just google "the difference between female and male cichlids" that is what i did to find out the sex of my cichlids and johanni males are blue and the female are orang to yellow orange hope this helps good luck:dance2: :read: :) :dive:
