im thinkin about getting a variety of fish but some of the fish live in different water temperatures. two of the fish i was going to get was an cardinal tetra, which lives in waters 72-79*F, and the other was a fish called a Discus, and this fish lives in waters 79-86*F. Could i have the temperature of my water in my tank 82-84 degrees, or would it be to hot for the tetra?

Welcome to AC!
A stable pH is better than a floating one.
Yes, cardinals can be kept with discus.
I'll move this to the cichlid forum for you.

cardinals with discus is a fairly common mix..and it generally works quite well.

Those two will be fine in that temperature, though the discus may harras the tetras.
