Need advice on which Cichlid to get pls

Hi,

I dont know much about Cichlids. I would like a Cichlid for my tank that is


small, wont grow bigger than 2"
happy in a pair rather than a shoal (keep my bio load down)
colourful
wont eat my plants (heavily planted)
wont eat my shrimp (amano and bamboo)
wont eat my other fish (pygmy corys, neons, clown pleco, guppys, will possibly be getting some but not all of Platys, Danios, Lemon Tetras in the future)
possibly reasonably hardyAnything that suits?

first thing that pops into mind is dwarf cichlids

apisto's or maybe Bolivian rams
a pair if Bolivians..with apisto's I understand you need 2-1 ratio

LFS has Apistos, claims they are quite rare and selling breeding pair, any thoughts?

Cany find Bolivian Rams but found another LFs who sells 'East European Rams' - thoughts?

I have two bolivian rams, there sweet. eat out of my hands to! I like the blue rams, very pretty.

do you have the tecnical name? I am not fionding anything on 'East Euorpean Rams'

Not sure, I can ask more questions at the LFS, guessing it might be the 'German Ram'

Pearl / Yellow colour, little spot on the side, multi coloured fins which are predominantly yellow...LFs said it was a friendly community dwarf variety which should eb kept in pairs, but not on own

If its german is a blue ram. very pretty indeed!!
I want a few my self. but I am don with fish, I have enough in my tank so no more wil be boughten. kind of sad really LOL! but I am starting a 29 gallon for my mom in the next few months, so I am getting them for her tank :)

And come to think of it, what about those apistos...which is more suitsable for my tank...apistos or rams....I have
