Hi.
My quarantine (sp??) tank is up and running and I have 5 otos in it right now. How long do I need to leave them in the QT and what is the best way to get them from the QT to their new home?

:dive2:

Thanks!

Thanks, I was thinking a month would be about right, just wanted to check. How about moving them. Can I float them in a sandwhich baggie?

Usually a month is sufficient unless you are dealing with a disease or a parasite. In that case the quarentine will be longer then a month until the problem is resolved. As far as the acclimation process is concerned I would suggest floating the bag for fifteen minutes and then add about 1/2 cup of water every five minutes or so for about thirty minutes or so. Then just net the fish and place them in the aquarium. Please remember not to mix waters.

at least month for me.

I treat the fish in the tank for parasites and sometimes bacterial .

you will need to watch the fish for awhile to see how they respond.

most fish have some level of parasitic infestation..if they are healthy they keep the parasites at bay.(hard for many to believe but the fact remains)
