Say a guy wanted to try his hands at coral. His tank was doing great, fish were healthy and happy, tank has plenty of light, and water param. checks the day before 10% water changes were always almost perfect.

But, he wanted to try a few corals.

This guy knows he'll be going on the occasional 2 week vacation, and knows that his housesitter will not overfeed, but who's help will pretty much be topping off the water so it doesn't get too low.

So he wants to try a few corals...which ones would you recommend for such a n00bie?

Thanks!

:)

PS - Right now my sole coral-like inhabitant is a little section of brown star polyps...

mushrooms, button polyps, and star polyps are your best choices. they are the most resiliant and can handle sitters :]

(any chance this guy is you?)

Go for it, I totally agree with all above suggestions! One delight of keeping mushrooms is to watch them eat. Most Mushrooms doesnt even require alot of light. They prefer medium lighting.:)
