I got the baby clowns I wonted,,and I got some snails and hermit crabs for a cleaning crew.I also got a white sleeper goby..And he rocks. He is soooo cool to watch, not really shy.He will come out when I go to the tank and he wonts to..lol.I got him frozen brine shrimp when I bought him.but yesterday I throwed a shrimp pellet in there and he loved it,The clowns fought over the other shrimp pellet and the crabs love them,so I had to take some pics..
I caught my damsels with out to much trouble,I was sad to see her go but was soo excited about getting the clowns that it went ok..I have to say I love the clowns but the goby is ,my favorite. And I talked hubby into upgrading to a bigger tank..lol.So in the next month or so I am getting either a 75 or a 135.A guy we know is thinking about selling his 135 gallon and I sooooo wont it..

your purchases look just great mate...am glad you took the damsel back, you wont regret it...have to say aswell that the pictures of the hermits are excellent...really impressed...
Gobys have one of the best personalities in my opinion..awsome...
Niko
Congrats on your new additions. Gobies are fun, aren't they? Mine has been a toot, but so cool that I wouldn't trade him for anything.
Isn't it funny how things start out. "I just want a good size tank and a few fish" quickly turns into "I want a bigger tank!". I have had my tank for about 4 months, and I am already looking to upgrade. I hope things work out for you to get the 135 gal!

Pictures are great and fish are looking good. I had a couple of sleeper gobies and they are fantastic to watch especially when scooping sand then swimming up and dropping it like bombs!!!
Keep up the good work.
Nice. My grand ma wants one of those "nemo fish" as she calls them. I think it would be to much work though.

not neccesarily too much work mate, just depends on how much effort you want to put in to it...its very rewarding...

Hey hey! great news. sounds like you did the right thing. now all thats further needed is not to get trigger happy and add add add! Lol Seriously just sustain and maintain. Add more fish only when all pre- reqs are met. Enjoy!!!:)

I just started my saltwater and I have to say Jessu it is fairly easy..Just pay attention..Test and wait..lol..I found it no harder than my freshwater tank..And as Niko said it is very rewarding
I thought keeping a saltwater tank was really hard.
As Niko said, it just takes patience and time. Also, lots of research and dedication. It can also be somewhat expensive at times but to me it seems worth it at the end. Of course it also depends on your set-up, size, etc.
I started saltwater before freshwater. In fact I only started keeping freshwater this year and I must admit, sadly, that I'm just not as interested in my freshwater tank. :(

Missc- Sorry, I thought I already commented... Nice tank! I'm glad you got the damsel out okay- you make it sound easy, hehe. Gobies do rock. They're one of my favorite fish. I'm glad you enjoy yours.
Jessu- thinking of taking the plunge over to the salty side of things...?

Hi 5xevy..Thanks..Getting the damsels out wasn't to hard..The 4 striped was the hardest. She wonted to hide behind the rock and my net would get hung on the rock.I layed all my rock down and cornered her and got her..I have more trouble out of the danios in my freshwater than I did with her..Of course having a small amount of rock in the tank helped too..lol
My goby is the coolest thing ever.He is by far my fav..
OH and had to let you all know..the guy is saleing me the 135 gallon tank..YES..I am going in the morning to look at it and if it is nice I will buy it...Keep your fingers crossed that it is nice...I really wont it,And the price is a steal by any means. He is gonna sale it to me for 100 bucks. It comes with a stand and over flow tank that is 20 gallons it filters the water in the 20 gallon and send the water back up to the 135 gallon..Never had a tank like that before so I may have questions for ya..lol.Keep you fingers crossed for me..

It's really not much more difficult than keeping a freshwater tank if you are a person who is very diligent about how they maintain things. In other words you can slack off a lot and still do really well with freshwater. Saltwater doesn't give you as much room to be lazy.
The rub is that it will cost more because with every water change there is salt to be added, and the moral issue. Personally I am against wild caught fish, especially in light of the inexcusably wretched way in which reef fish are caught. If I ever go salt, it will be very strictly tank raised species.
