I have a pair of convicts that just layed eggs in a 55-gallon. Their tankmates are three other convicts and two jack dempseys. I thought that their babies could be live food for the other fish but after seeing their parenting abilities i'm not so sure. They even chased the large JD from their tank and he is about four times their size. My question is do you think that the babies will get eaten? If not what should I do with them after they hatch? I don't have another tank to keep the babies in.:help:

They most likely will. Depending on your decor and how many hiding spaces, some may make it.

the babies will probably get eaten by the other fish in the tank, including the parents, when they are done raising them and ready to spawn again.

Thanks for the help. Heres another question: does my tank sound overstocked?
