every night their number drops significantly.
I'm pretty sure some of the South American cats in the tank have an idea of their whereabouts. :)

have you tried leaving a small desk lamp on, next to their favoured spot all night???

i did that with my thomasi fry, and found the parents would move them to the lit spot, and they would tend to stay in that area..
whenever i turned all the lights off, fry would scatter, and get picked off by any other fish around......

(i made that mistake twice, now i have about 40 or so 1\2" fry in a grow out tank..)

edit: btw, mighty impressive piccys..

congrats on the breeding pair! and nice pics of the parents and babies.

how big are they?
what suie tank r they in?

TightDog-
im not exactly concerned about the fate of the fry as I have no intention of setting up a separate tank for them. Ideally, I would like to keep a couple of them :)
The leaving-the-light-on method definitely works though.

the parents are 4" and 3" respectively. I got them about a year ago, they were both around 2". They spent 1 month in a quarantine tank, and as soon as I moved them to the current 72g tank they spawned. I believe this was their 4th or 5th time.

they are about the same size as mine are. thats kool. yea blue acaras seem to love to breed as mine seem to breed as soon as all the fry are gone. which is like every 1-2 weeks. i have currently a 20gL with about 20-30 1" blue acara fry which i am gonna sell to the LFS which i bought them from.
