I know certain cichlids from Lake Malawi do - but do Tanganyikan shell dwellers also enjoy rocks in the tank?
Reason I ask is I have some nice pieces of Texas Holey Rock that I picked up cheap at our fish club convention - and want to use that for a new tank for either Lake Malawi cichlids or Shell dwellers.
I would prefer a smaller tank in my study - hence I was looking at the shellies. I know most Malawi fish are probably best kept in 55gal or above.
But I really want to have the Nice pieces of Texas Holey Rock used as hiding places, etc (in addition to the shells if I go that route).
So will Shell dwellers use rock in this fashion or should I go with some pure rock dwellers
