What a lovely looking shrimp. Before i even started my nano i had my eye on one of these. Im not taking a chance with keeping a specimen in my nano though. I'll wait for the 110 gal to park in my lounge first! Any feedback on these lovely shrimps would be appreciated.:)

I had one up till last summer, all my fish would take turns letting him clean them all day long. Well, except for my blue damsel, he didn't want any part of him or anyone else. It's funny cause my snowflake even tollerated him :) We moved out of a rented house into a trailer in the country and the temp went to 92deg when I was at work and killed alot of what I had in there. No matter what I did I couldn't get the temp to stay down. I wan't to get another but at $50 each I have to find a way to keep the temp stable first, can't afford a chiller. They are real nice though.

i HAD one but unfortunately it died but it did clean stuff!

They are more shy than the skunkback cleaner shrimp and usually spend most of the day hidden, especially if there is just one in the tank. I would get 2-3 of them in your 110gallon, they will be bolder and more active than a single one. Also they are a more delicate shrimp so best to wait until your new tank has been running for a bit before adding them.

They've got great color with the deep red and the white tentacles/legs contrast, always cool to watch them come marching out to scavenge the tank after the daylights shut off.

I'm getting 2 or 3 this week. I've never had them before but I really like their coloring, possible cleaning habits, and the fact that they're related to my skunks.

Hi thanks for replies! no matter what, i will keep one or two specimens. Im busy looking at a good multi-trace-eliment-suppliment. The one im thinking of buying caters for iodine which is crucial for molting.

you will get all the iodine you require from your water changes...if you do intend to add suppliments to the tank, please ensure you buy a test kit for each suppliment added..

The one in my 20g Grandkids tank has been there for 5 or 6 years now and I have never added iodine or any other trace elements to this tank or any of my larger tanks in 13 yrs now. Water changes are sufficient, as already mentioned.
