Hello all!
I know I am an addict now lol. Somewhere on here I read you could feed dojo loaches from your hand. I thought how crazy as mine just really flips out now and again and doesn't really look like he knows where he is going. As if he just lands where he flits about and hopes food will be there. Well I tried it.....I took a bit of tubifex (which always floats and never seems to reach the bottom) in my fingers and just took a chance and put it right in front of my loach fully expecting him to flip out that I dared touch him......but lo and behold he started eating right away. I fed him twice and it was the neatest thing I have done so far with my new tank and fishies. Thanks to whoever wrote the message.....it was a lot of fun!!!! :) Now plan on another tank just for my loach.......and more to come hehe.

Haha Ya fish are funny like that. I feed with a turkey baster and the fish nibble on the end of it before there is even food in it!

Works great!

Ok how does the turkey baster thing work? Do you fill it with water and the food? Or do you just somehow put the food in the end and hope it stays there? I have never tried it but if it helps me feed the loach better then I am all for it.......Cuz so far all the freeze dried stuff that he's supposed to eat just floats. I learn so much here.....thanks to all! This is such an awesome site :).

Use it like an eye dropper for medicine. Squeeze the bulb a little bit, hold, insert tip into food mixture, let up on bulb a bit. You'll see the food be sucked up into the end. When you have enough, (don't release the bulb), stick near dojo and squeeze bulb slowly, and the food will come out.
