My cleaner shrimp jock appears to have shed a skin overnight! Is this a good sign, bad sign or just one of those things? He didn't look any different yesterday although he has been hiding up by the filter output for a couple of days.:bday:

They shed as they get older and grow. It's normal. but if you add iodine to your tank they shed alot more and it shortens their life.
iodine is need for the process of skin molting, you can add supplements but regular water changes has iodine to.
Yeah, perfectly normal. I remember the first time I saw it I thought my shrimp had died! Hehe. The last time I saw it molt, it decided to eat it's own molt afterwards. 
Your salt mix should also have some iodine in it. Some people dose with it but I don't find that completely necessary.
