Nah....myspace is far more featured and interactive. I wouldn't even compare them. Especially considering that facebook is strictly school-based and so the only people on there are, well, other students. This limits the networking potential so much it's almost pointless to use it for anything except just casual goofing off with college friends.

Not to mention myspace has forums, classifieds, music, film, comedy, affiliations for networking (great for starting groups, forming bands, making business contacts, etc.)

I'm staying with myspace. I hardly even touch my facebook account.

Feel free to stalk me. http://www.myspace.com/echoofformless

It dosent have to be school based. You can have diffrent networks like city and and work. Then there groups, in the groups there are music/car/computer/whatever fourms and what not.

It still just doesn't compare to myspace. Both by the interface and the engine, but more importantly by the fact that there are literally millions of people, bands, groups, affiliations, etc on myspace worldwide compared to maybe a few hundred thousand on facebook. There is just so much more to do, see, etc on myspace.

Myspace has the market cornered when it comes to networking. And personally I think that's a good thing. There's really no reason or room for any "competition" in this area of the internet. At least in my opinion. Facebook has its uses I guess...but why would one really bother with something which is so vastly inferior to another thing when both services are entirely free of charge?

I like face books interface better. I dosent give you control over colors, kinda limiting but it keeps it from getting messy and having pages that take forever to load. I also like how many things can be done on one page with out having to reload the page. I think the facebook community will grow to where myspace is. I have a myspace too...just remade one.

Facebook community will never grow to the gargantuan megasite that is myspace.

Two reasons:

1) Myspace has everything but the kitchen sink, therefore no one has a need to seek out another means of networking. And pretty much anyone you find on facebook has a myspace account. So who needs it?

2) Myspace is HUGE. It does everything and has everyone. Ergo no one really pays attention to small change competition.

The only time a smaller competitor might rise up to the level of the big boys is if that competitor is offering some key item that the larger institution does not. And in this case, facebook doesn't offer anything that myspace doesn't. Zip. Null. Nada. In fact they offer barely a fraction of what myspace offers.

If these websites cost money, then I could see maybe facebook being able to keep an edge by being far lower in price. But the fact is both services are free. Why would larger numbers of people begin to pay attention to a website that hardly anyone knows about, and which offers fewer services than the one they have already been using? It makes no sense. Pretty much everyone has a myspace account now. And they have their friends lists, comments, bulletins, networking, music, film, comedy, etc...all that fun stuff...what reason would they have for taking the time to set up an account and start adding friends, groups, photos, videos, yada yada to another website that doesn't do anything of what the original website does for them already?

It would be like another phone company springing up and saying, "Hey we offer you fewer features and a smaller network - all for the very same price you pay to your current provider!"

Not exactly something that will be attracting many customers.

I'm not knocking facebook at all. It has its place. But it's simply not anywhere near as useful as myspace, nor will it ever become popular. Their only hope would be if myspace begins charging money for its services. Otherwise, they will remain an insignificant waste of a web address.

Facebook is great! It is like comparing FF to IE. One has just what you need while the other is bloated and slow but is still used the most.

I agree 100%. MySpace is obnoxious IMO.

I like it that my group has its own space, so anyone can go post a message. Like- such and such team is looking for players. I don't have to listen to someone's cute song or anything just to find out what's going on w/ our league.
