OK. Question raised because everyone given me different answer! :mad2:
* feed your fish in the morning when you step in the office and in the evening before leaving the office.
* Feed your fish only one time in a day
* Dont feed your fish daily!
Note: The fish tank is in the office and I works for 5 Days, meaning weekend I cant feed any food to the fish......until Monday when I back.
3 Holland Ram (blue)
2 Holland/Phoniex Ram (yellow orange)
1 Glass fish (transparent)
2 Tiger Barb (black/orange)
2 Tiger Barb (orang/white)
2 White Fin rosy Tetra
2 Black Blackskirt Tetra
6 Black Phanthom Tetra
IMO 2 small meals a day should be fine. They should be OK over the weekend with no food.

Most of my tanks are every other day. Some fry tanks or juvies are several times a day. Some predators are weekly.
Your mix, I would probably be doing every other day.

you get different answers because every tank is different. if you were cleaning the tank every week and doing larger water changes, you could feed a couple times a day. if you're only doing water changes every two weeks, feed less - once a day or every other day. if you test your water and you're getting ammonia or nitrite problems, feed a little less and do more maintenance. if the fish eat everything in 30 seconds, feed a little more. it all depends on your tank and your fish.

Well, I had monitor it this morning when I step in office I feed them and they seem very very hungry within less then 30secs all the flakes disappear....then I feed abit more and again finish it very fast. Especially the barb & the black skirt tetra, they seem to be always hungry all times.... before I left the office I feed them again.
Its has been a week for which I bought the tank and the water still look very clean and clear.

First, you have to find out how much your fish eat... so, feed them one flake at a time untill they cant eat anymore, and thats what you will be feeding them (1-2x a day)
But, if you have corys, shrimp or even snail, feed them a few xtra flakes
This might not work for you, but this is how I have allways done it:D

As long as u are consitant you will be fine. The more you feed the more u need to clean up any leftovers (especially on a 2x day schedule).
You'll be fine, the tank wil tell you what u need (i.e. more frequent cleanings needed, etc.), but just be consitant would be my advice ;)

I believe that in the animal kingdom it is imprtant to build positive association.
Most Mammals learn by either association or imitation. I believe fish to leanr in a similar manner.
When I pour in the water for my PWC I not only add my conditiner but live food into the bucket...the fish have very quickly leanred to really enjoy when I
(a) stick my hand in the tank
(b) do a water change
(c) open and close the lid
Opinions on this appreciated?

Fish do not need to eat every day. In the wild they can go a long time with no food. The fish in our tanks are the same. Just remember that the more you feed them the more they will eat and the more they will poop. That means more clean up for you. If this tank is in your office I assume at work, then you may not have a lot of time to always clean the tank. Of course some tank cleaning is a must but if I were you I would probably feed on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday once a day and only what you know they will eat. They do not need food over the week-end. I have left my fish for an entire week when I am on vacation and the fish are fine. They will appreciate clean water as opposed to more food.
Hope this helps.
