My pH has been at 8.5 and ammonia between 0.1-0.3 for the last 2 weeks. I have done regular water changes during this time and both remain the same. The fish, corals and inverts seem to be doing just fine. What might else i do either then cleans and water changes? Any ideas what is causing this? I have had 3 asteria snails die from falling off a rock then my crabs eat it clean so i did not bother taking them out because they were eaten clean.

Honestly, I think your pH is fine at that level. I'd be more concerned about the ammonia.

My first question is have you tested your ammonia levels from your water source? What kind of tests do you use?

are you cycling now or is that an after cycle spike?

i bought the test kits in february and the expiry date is not till 2009. The company is Nutrafin. I will do a fresh water test today.
