Well for my nano im going for an aquac remora skimmer, one question, could i get the 55 gallon model instead of the 20 gallon model and turn off the 55 gallon model at night and turn it on during the day? I want good skimming but skimmers can be loud and the tank is in my room. There only 30 dollars difference in price and i do plan on getting a 55 gallon reef tank one day anyway

Get the 55 g model, run it 24/7. FYI, anthony calfo stated that he was getting a few cups of skimmate DAILY out of a 240 with no fish... I think that proves that your in no danger of over skimming.

i have a remora pro with a much larger pump, aka, a lot noisier, and it isnt very load at all.
it is right next to my bed (or was before i got my deltec) and i had no problems whatsoever. my coralife super skimmer is quieter, however.
but yes, definatly get the largest one you can get. at least, that is my opinion. lol

I agree. I really don't believe there is such thing as over-filtration or over-skimming.

I really enjoy reading Anthony Calfo's stuff. Was the above in one of his books or on wetwebmedia or...?
