Testing Help!

I went to the store and bought some testing kits (finally) and got home and went to it. Just wondered if I was getting close being done with the cycle?

Ammonia: 0.2
Nitrites: 0.25
PH: seemd around 8.1

The thing is though when I tested for KH, it's wasn't even on the scale. I'm not sure if i was doing it right or not. It never turned yellow even after 15-20 drops, it just got more blue? Whats the problem there and what should I do?

You also need nitrates to determine where your cycle is. If you have ammonia, you are still in the early stage.

What tests are you using? There are a few different brands/types.

I wouldn't say you're "close" to being done. Your ammonia has to disappear and then you have to wait for your nitrites to get back down to 0. Depending on how much ammonia you had in there, it could take another week or another 3 weeks.

yea ur getting there but i agree u need to test for nitrates as well.
