Sunset gouramis are a color variant of the honey gourami. http://www.aquahobby.com/gallery/e_honey.php

They are very nice gourami for smaller tanks since they only get to about an 1 and a half. Once settled in and given a good diet, they have really nice colors. I had one but he died of an intestinal blockage within the first week and I never got another to replace him. I'm pretty sure he was mailed to me with a blockage.:(

Like the previous post said - they're nice for smaller tanks as they don't get as large as some other gourami varieties. The get along well with most other tankmates - my uncle has a couple of them in his community tank and they've been doing well for the last 10 months...

Is this different with the Honey Sunset Gourami or one and the same? I think it's more orangish in color compared to the Fire Red. The Honey Sunset is on my list... waiting until I put in the driftwood.

I'd have to say no. That tank is already pretty stocked and bettas and gouramis don't get along well, because they are from the same family. They would fight just like 2 male bettas.

....In all my experience, my betta in my 55 doesnt have any problems with the gouramis I have in there, I have 2 kissing gourami and a blue gourami.....I will take your advise into consideration, but still wanna hear what others say, thanks

This is not a 55 gallon, which is too small for 1 let alone 2 kissing gouramis in the long run, it is an overstocked 10g. They will have the possibility fight in such cramped quarters. It all depends on the fish, but it is not a good idea, especially seeing that your tank is crowded as is. You wanna hear what others have to say? Or is it that you wanna wait until others possibly tell you what you want to hear?

1st of all they are only 2" fish, 2nd of all I have a 125 gallon on the way for the gourami, 3rd of all the 10 gallon is being changed 2 my 20 gallon when I have the time to run up to the lfs to get a new heater, 4th of all, in the short amount of time ive been on ac, Ive heard may different opinions and all are not the same, I go by the amount on either side, to get or not to get, with the majority pointing in the direction of which to go, thank you very much

Thank you for actually giving the information we need in order to help you determine what will and won't work. How am I supposed to give you accurate advice if I am not given all the facts? How am I supposed to know that you are not some crazy n00b trying to stuff massive amounts of innapropriate fish in a tiny tank? Sorry, if I stepped on your toes didn't mean to, but these are the things we need to know in order to help you properly.:) As for the gourami and betta, that is the truth; unless, you are waiting to hear one person's lucky, quirk of a story of how they just happened to get fish that get along.:dance2:
