For a 33 gal reef tank with a filter that is providing some flow would adding one Maxi-Jet MP-1200 Powerhead be enough or would i need 2-3 more? Also where in the tank is the best plce to put them, middle, low, or high. I have noticed in some of the tanks on here that people place them near the top.

what is the flow rate of the filter? as you would combine this flow rate with any powerheads to get your tank turnover...Post that, and we can best suggest on a powerhead solution.
Where the powerhead gets positioned in the tank has no set rule really. You have to keep playing with the position of it untill you find the place that gives you good circulation so there is no dead spots in the tank where detrius can settle.

i would say 2 and if u have the rock up against the back of the aquarium i would get a weaker pump to make some flow back there as well.
