I decided i want to have an automatic refill for my reef. The MHs cause more evaporation than I had ever imagined. I need something tall and thin and cannot come up with anything. I'm sure it would help it I gave the maximum dimensions so I'll have to add to this thread later.

Something like a garbage bin or Rubbermaid is too wide...besides the fact I'd rather not have one of those visible in the room.

Suggestions?

Measurements coming soon!

I use a clear Rubbermaid Wrap-N-Craft after seeing one being used on melevsreef.com

Dimensions according to the sticker are 17.1"L x 10"W x 33.3"T (33.3"T includes the lid, there's about 24" of water holding height). When I manually measure it, the dimensions are somewhat less than stated, and the length includes the handles on the lid. Filled to the top, it can hold 9 - 10g, but I only measured / marked the one I use up to the 6 gallon point.

The only word of caution that I'd give is that bottom on the inside of it is not flat, which may or may not be a concern depending on the type of pump you'll be using to move the water.
